Carsten Maschmeyer is an entrepreneur, consultant and financial investor. A graduate of medicine, in 1988 he founded the independent financial services company AWD, which went public in the year 2000 and was promoted to the MDAX index. In 2007 Carsten Maschmeyer sold his AWD shares and parted company with AWD.

He holds stakes in numerous companies from various industries and has a range of professional focuses, including as a businessman and consultant for decision-makers and financial companies. Carsten Maschmeyer has two sons and lives with the actress Veronica Ferres.
